SD Gundam Battle Alliance Demo

Ok so I want to talk about what you can experience on the Demo for the game. Since I am playing it on the PS5 I cant stream it until I can get a new capture card. With that said I do have it and can explain what you can expect to see.

First I want to make sure you know where to download it from, here is a link.

Now you have a link and seen some of the pictures above, from the first 2 missions, we can talk about the gameplay. So to begin with once you pick a mission you go to a screen that lets you pick 2 partners. These will be in the level with you and they really do help out from time to time. They unlock as soon as you beat the Second Mission Break Version, this will make sense once you start playing.

Now lets talk about everything on screen. First lets be weird and start in the bottom left. This shows your health, orange bar, how many repair packs, and if your Special Attack is charged. All of this is very important, you also can see what type your MS is. For example my GM is a All-Rounder, by the blue symbol. If you have a crosshair then your MS is a Sharpshooter. Finally if you have red fist you are an Infighter. Basically the roles are general purpose, you can fight anywhere. You fight at a distance and shoot enemies. You are the tank for the group up-close and deal out melee damage.

Next thing we will look at is the bottom right. This is your Weapons. You have 2 Sub Weapons both are registered to the Shoulder Buttons. Sub 1 is R1 and Sub2 is L1. Main is R2, and that is your primary range attack. Next we will go right in the center, not shown here but there will be a boost gauge. This game is shared between you boosting and your melee combat. The melee combat is split between basic attacks, Square, and heavy attacks, Triangle. They both have hold options which you will learn in the tutorial. Next is the Radar in the top right corner. This will show you where everything is. Last thing you can see is the Mission Waypoint. This just tells you where to go. Also since I talked about some of the controls I will mention the rest. X will jump you, and use some boost. When Circle will be your boost. The special is R1+L1. Left stick moves while Right stick handles the camera.

Now lets talk about the thing I was worried about the most, map size. You can see in this picture the line across the level that is the boundary, and you can see it on the Radar. At first I was worried it would be small, but this is actually big for the size of the MS. Since everything is SD the maps can be smaller but feel really big. I cant boost across this yet, I have to stop and let it recharge before I can continue. Granted once I get more powerful MS I bet that will change but for now I am happy with the size.

I haven’t talked about the menu between missions, multiplayer, or some other things. This is all cause I want to leave something for you to discover when you try it. The demo is also out on Xbox so you can play it on there as well. No Demo for PC or Switch in the States. I can confirm that there is a Demo for Switch in the Asia region, cause I downloaded it. Only real thing I will mention with that is. Your save carries over from the Demo. I don’t know if its with the Profile or Region of the game but it will. I really enjoy this game so far and cant wait for it to come out at the end of the month.
